Hi, I’m Ling, a game designer dedicated to creating immersive experiences that balance narrative, atmosphere, and player interaction. As an independent developer, I specialize in turning design concepts into interactive demos and prototypes, with strong attention to mood, pacing, and overall quality. I enjoy exploring how visuals, sound, and storytelling come together to shape the player’s emotional journey.
My current project, The New World, is a puzzle horror game built in RPG Maker, inspired by the narrative style of “Rule Horror.” In this project, I handle concept design, story writing, character development, gameplay mechanics, and even some sound editing. The game has already been tested at Freeplay, Sabby, IGDA, and ACMI, and will continue to be showcased at PAX Aus. These experiences have deepened my skills in designing, testing, and refining interactive narratives while engaging directly with players.
Beyond development, I often analyze films and draw inspiration from their storytelling and emotional design, which I integrate into my game work. I also use Figma, RPG Maker, and video/audio editing tools to support my creative process.
I am currently seeking junior game design opportunities, where I can contribute to ambitious projects and learn from experienced teams—particularly studios known for strong storytelling and emotional design. Please feel free to view my portfolio and connect with me here on LinkedIn.
